Guess who's back... Back again!

Thank you to everyone who continues to support me through this journey! It was a couple rough weeks for me physically, emotionally and mentally. After picking back up from the treatment that got pushed out a week, I hit a wall where I was more fatigued and had come down with a sore throat of sorts. It was a rough 2 weeks where I was drained in just about every aspect and also had to fight through a couple migraines on top of the side effects from treatment. Thankful for the army that continues to show up day in and day out and for those who step up in the matter of minutes when I text for help. Blessed to have you ushing me through when I needed help carrying this cross! 😊

We have also had a lot happening at home the last few weeks:

  • I have been working from home to avoid the back-to-school bugs- even though I caught something anyways!
  • All things back to school for Walker including starting soccer
  • I have been adjusting to listening to my body- resting when I need and taking advantage of being active when I feel up to it
  • Chris has an upcoming Bike ride this weekend to support cancer research and care in Cincinnati

I am back and have made it through this first round or cycle of Chemo. 13 weeks, 12 treatments, side effects have been minimal and when they are present manageable. Excited to have reached this side of this first grouping and in 12 weeks I have come to understand what the doctors are looking for from my blood counts in order to proceed to treatments. The staff at Western Ridge are one in a million. I have come to have great relationships with some of them and I rely on their personal updates to get me through the visits!

As much as I have tried to avoid letting this “thing” take over my life it's hard to not let it. in addition to treatments on Tuesdays, I have also relied on fluids (Wednesday and Fridays) and the last few weeks have had to come in for an injection to increase my white blood counts (specifically my ABS Neutrophils) those are Thursday, Friday and Mondays. So, for the last 3 weeks or so I have been there just about every day for one thing or another. I am looking to hopefully decrease that here with this next grouping.
